Black and White Women Friend Scholars Transgress Neoliberal Time and Opt for Di-unital Time

This essay looks at the politics and theories of time chronemics through theme "waiting" as a communicative strategy. We are both parents Communication academicians in different spaces; one us is African American/Black other European American/white. entered higher education accepting unknowingly complicit with neo-liberal time-clock that framed our decision making toward seeking achieving institutional ideals success. To challenge dichotomous linear perspective time, we explore di-unital approach towards which more accurately reflects activities relationships. In this research each respond to an original poem ostensibly about mundane, intentional, reflective, transformational. Using autoethnography duo-ethnography, dialogue experiences teacher-scholar-parents strive redefine how measure value expose inequities experience, transgress competitive ethic use education. Those who aim disrupt oppressive dehumanizing values neoliberal human obliteration profit margins over people's lives, opt for time.
